Two laps of Kabaka Lake before the sun comes up.
Sharon meets the Athletics Society outside the SU at twenty to seven. Two coaches, six kilometres, no excuses. She's home and showered before her first lecture begins.
Student life
Two campuses, 38 student-led societies, two D1 sports teams, a 24-hour library, and a city that's one of the best places in East Africa to be twenty.

A day at TEAM
One day with Sharon, a BSc Software Engineering student — from the sunrise run to closing the library at 22:00. Scroll to walk through it.
Sharon meets the Athletics Society outside the SU at twenty to seven. Two coaches, six kilometres, no excuses. She's home and showered before her first lecture begins.
Dr. Sserunjogi runs the lecture like a workshop: forty minutes of theory, twenty minutes at the board solving the problem live, with students called up by name to defend their thinking.
Sharon's four-person studio team is three weeks out from the final review. Today's question — what does the false-positive rate look like on the partner bank's mobile-money traffic?
Twenty minutes of Q&A, three pairs of hands raised at once, and lunch from the SU canteen on the ground floor. The cohort's WhatsApp group lights up after.
Office hours are walk-in. Most weeks Sharon doesn't book — but when she does, the mentor opens her notes from last term to remind her what they agreed.
Five of them at the corner table by the window, problem-set printed and annotated, three laptops open, one whiteboard, one running pot of coffee. The librarian comes by at 21:50 with the closing announcement.
Last week she stayed until close every night. This week she's promised herself bed by eleven, three nights out of five. Wednesday begins in eight hours.

Living in Kampala

From Mengo's rolex stands to specialty coffee at Endiro and the Acacia Mall food courts — eat for UGX 5,000 or UGX 50,000.

Bring a Saturday: Entebbe beaches, Jinja for the source of the Nile, Ssese islands for a long-weekend trip.

The Kampala student card gets you in cheap or free at the National Theatre, Goethe-Zentrum, and most festivals.
